This is why we cannot have a regional minimum wage. A regional minimum wage would have such a huge racial disparate impact it would border on being just outright racist because it singles out black women and women of color to not be protected by a rising wage standard that we would give to all other Americans.

I hope that Tennessee governor Bill Lee’s decision to postpone the last execution scheduled for this year will give lawmakers time to consider the subject seriously.
