I’m grateful to Inspector General Tammy Hull and her team for their thorough review process in South Dakota and their thoughtful recommendations for improvements.

We have to stay focused on the fact that we know that gas prices are too high, and diesel is way too high.

What we can and should do right now is explore suspending the federal gas tax through the end of the year to give Americans immediate relief.

The prices at the pump are being driven by a global shortage of refining capacity.
