The following Senators are necessarily absent: the Senator from Georgia (Mr. Isakson), the Senator from Kansas (Mr. Moran), the Senator from Alaska (Ms. Murkowski), the Senator from Kentucky (Mr. Paul), the Senator from Georgia (Mr. Perdue), and the Senator from South Dakota (Mr. Rounds). Further, if present and voting, the Senator from Kansas (Mr. Moran) would have voted ``yea.''

The deal seems good for Americans in that it will open up the Strait of Hormuz and result in economic benefits.
I hope that's not necessary. We've had conversations, productive conversations, on both sides of the aisle on a funding resolution that would carry us past the November election.
The only way you can obviously get this done is to nuke the legislative filibuster, and that is not something that we have anywhere close to the votes to do.
