I want to just congratulate Chair Collins, Vice Chair Murray, members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and the committee sub chairs this evening--I know, at least on our side, Chair Boozman, Chair Hoeven, Chair Mullin--in getting a package of appropriations bills across the floor. It is a major accomplishment and something that I hope is a pattern for things to come. And so I would say thank you to all who worked so hard to get us to this point, including the many members of your staff who have worked night and day these last several weeks. And the committee continues to report out, with big bipartisan margins, appropriations bills, and I hope we can get some more of them on the floor soon. So, again, congrats to the members of the committee, and let's vote.

I think it illustrates the clear contrast between us and the Democrats about how you want to, how you see government functioning.

I’m hoping the White House will become engaged. Texas is an incredibly expensive state and obviously one that we need, that we’ve got to hold if we’re going to keep the United States Senate.

There's been enough uncertainty this last year, and, you know, unfortunately, I think through two government shutdowns that extended for a long period of time, it's better for everybody if there's predictability, certainty.
