I ask unanimous consent that when the Senate completes its business today, it stand adjourned until 12 noon on Tuesday, January 14; that following the prayer and pledge, the Journal of proceedings be approved to date, the morning hour be deemed expired, the time for the two leaders be reserved for their use later in the day, and the Senate be in a period of morning business for debate only, with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each; further, that the Senate recess from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly conference meetings; finally, that at 2:45 p.m., morning business be closed and the Senate resume consideration of Calendar No. 1, S. 5.
