“I was horrified to hear moments ago that conservative activist Charlie Kirk had died after being shot today while speaking at an event on the campus of Utah Valley University. Political violence, which this attack seems to be, has no place in this country--none. I am deeply disturbed by the threat of violence that has entered our political life, and I pray that we will remember that every person, no matter how vehement our disagreement with them, is a human being and fellow American deserving of respect and protection. My prayers are with Charlie Kirk's wife and children and his whole family, with the doctors and nurses who cared for him, and with all those who were present at the shooting.”
