Clearly, it was a decision the CIA made. And they made it because, again, I had spent a lot of time with the most senior officials in Niger over the previous decade, and developed a considerable amount of credibility with them.

There would be only one reason for Saddam Hussein to be purchasing uranium yellowcake from Niger and that would be to resuscitate his nuclear weapons program. It was important to check it out.
I believe Karl Rove should be fired. I believe Karl Rove should be fired, because I believe it's an outrageous abuse of power for somebody sitting in an office next to the president of the United States to be personally engaged in a smear campaign against citizens of this country.
Well, it strikes me that it's typical of a Rove-type operation -- slime and defend is what it's called in the past.
I find that to be an outrageous abuse of power from a senior White House official.
his wife's CIA cover was blown. Now former Ambassador Joe Wilson wants Karl Rove fired even if he didn't break the law.
Karl Rove should be fired and that the White House is -- quote -- "involved in a web of lies" in the scandal that outted Wilson's CIA agent wife.

They attempt to discredit the messenger who brought the message by dragging my wife into -- into the public square. Why that's gained momentum I think is twofold -- one, if it's true, it is a very serious crime. And, secondly, this is, after all, an administration that promised to restore dignity and honor to the White House. And acting like schoolyard bullies pulling the hair of a little girl, metaphorically speaking, is something that I don't think people -- people appreciate very much.
