“after Baton Rouge, I went to the legendary city of New Orleans where I met with Mayor LaToya Cantrell. Around half of that city lives below sea level. Strong partnerships between the public and private sectors help make the city a national leader in resiliency planning. In 2017, the city's ``Climate Action for a Resilient New Orleans'' plan pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2030.
