The focus of the Environment and Public Works Committee will extend beyond the National Priorities List to include solutions to our national brownfields problem. And while my committee does not have jurisdiction over tax measures, I recognize the leadership exerted by Senator Abraham to address the problem of brownfields and I hope to work with him on a variety of solutions to the environmental problems faced by this Nation's communities.
