I hope I have helped to dispel the myth that the submarine is a relic of the cold war and we no longer need submarines. To the contrary, the Seawolf is a very relevant military platform to face the threat of the post-Soviet world. For these reasons, I urge my colleagues to join me in opposing the McCain amendment.
