Secretary West, section 922 of the FY 2017 NDAA focused on solidifying and strengthening the roles and responsibilities of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict to effectively conduct internal oversight of, and advocacy on behalf of SOCOM.
