This bipartisan amendment, cosponsored by Senator Collins, Senator Merkley, and others, would add resources to energy programs for the purpose of increasing support for the Weatherization Assistance Program. It would also include weatherization in the investments under the deficit-neutral reserve fund on clean energy and environmental protection. Weatherization does several things: It puts people to work, helps low-income people control their energy bills, and helps us move toward energy independence. We need to do more of this, not less. This amendment will put us back on the track of doing more, not less. I would urge passage of this amendment. The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senator from Alabama.
