I want to commend you and Ranking Member Shelby for holding this hearing because, looking back over the last several years, there were many, many issues that had potential dire consequences to the financial system which were not examined, even though they were small risks, it appeared, but the consequences were, as we discovered in 2008 and 2009, extraordinary.
