The Goldman Act empowered the State Department to seek the return of American children, yet, the department, in my opinion, has not used the full of range of tools as Congress has intended.
Because it ignores the fundamental reality that our country has been made stronger, more vibrant, more dynamic, more powerful because of the arrival of immigrants, and refugees, and asylum seekers.
Congress certainly has the authority to do that and I think that's one of the key issues for this Committee and the Congress to consider.
