What bothers me the most is that the President's wife at that time was leading the effort to uncover the President and what he had done. And now we have a situation where the President has gone far beyond, far, far beyond the coverup of a third-rate burglary. Tampering with a Federal witness is a felony. To lay out the possibility of a pardon, while there is a person who is incarcerated because she will not respond to a request by a legitimate judge and special prosecutor in this country, is a felonious act. I am not a lawyer but that is what it is. I have asked people. It is an outrage that this country should not allow to happen. In my mind this action makes Richard Nixon look like a Sunday school teacher in comparison in terms of what has occurred this week.
