On the recordJune 27, 2017
I thank the gentleman from Ohio. I want to next recognize the gentleman from Indiana (Mr. Bucshon). Certainly he sees this issue, too. As I mentioned before, one of the problems physicians have, if they do not know what kind of prescriptions that person is on, for example, a medical record may show if a person has an allergy to penicillin or something, but you may have no idea that that patient may, for example, be taking buprenorphine or methadone unless they tell you or you test for it. And as a surgeon, what happens when they go to get anesthesia and the complications come from that, but it is part of the reasons why we have to make sure that you as a physician have access to these records, things we can clean up. Mr. Speaker, I yield to the gentleman from Indiana (Mr. Bucshon).
