But what we see here is a very troubling trend in an area of the world which has been, unfortunately, a hotbed for this kind of behavior which has led to horrific consequences. We have an obligation, particularly in this region of the world, to point out to the governments of those countries the importance of making sure that religious liberty is respected, and religious liberty of all faiths, but in particular any kind of rise or any kind of motion toward a return to a horrific time in the world's history. This is one of the reasons I wanted to get up and talk today. I think it is important that we bring attention to this issue, as well as the broader issue of anti-Semitism. Later, we will hear people talk about the acceptance--it is almost incredible to believe--the acceptance of anti-Semitic behavior at our colleges and universities here in the United States of America, as well as a whole host of problems.
