Salvation Army staff and volunteers are working in shelters and coordinating the distribution of supplies. The American Red Cross is currently providing thousands of volunteers, Red Cross workers and resources to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Red Cross has about 485 shelters open in 18 States serving more than 142,000 people.…”
