What has been sort of taken as a matter of record is that 80 to 90 percent of the partial-birth abortions performed in this country are on healthy women with healthy babies and that these are done for truly elective reasons. The idea that somehow we are holding on to this myth that we are doing this to save unhealthy women or because a baby is so severely deformed that they cannot live just isn't what the facts dictate. And that is from admissions from folks who perform the procedures, not our side coming up with these numbers. I hope we can stick with the facts as to what we are really talking about.
