This legislation has been around 7 years. This has been written about, described in detail in the national press, and I do not think we do the American public a great service by suggesting they cannot read and understand very clearly what this procedure is all about. I would argue probably the 30 percent who have not heard of it have not read in detail exactly what goes on. I make the other argument. But 70 percent is a pretty good start on our side. Second, the Senator says the Government should not get involved in regulating the doctor-patient relationship when it comes to women's health. Did the Senator support the female genital mutilation bill which bans a medical procedure that interferes with the doctor-patient relationship between a woman and her doctor?
