I believe people can make contributions and should make contributions and should be able to contribute to our society, particularly here on the Hill. I know, as has been reported widely in the press, there are a lot of people in this category on both sides of the aisle who are homosexuals who make great contributions to this Chamber. No one wants to deny them their ability to live out their dreams. But as I think the Senator from Colorado said, it is important for us to understand that this debate is not about limiting anybody's choices, except children, because that is really what this debate is about. If we change the definition of marriage, we end up limiting the choices of children and having the right to have a mother or father.
