“Members of Congress need access to information. The problem is there is so much of it that to process it and use it to make decisions is often difficult. My staff mines through a lot of information, does a great job with limited resources, and they often need help. And that is where the Congressional Research Service comes in. CRS helps with research on nearly any topic. They are able to track down new stories, books. They can talk through issues, help review legislation. Congress would not be the same without the valuable service they provide. My office has had the privilege of working with CRS quite closely on a number of issues. In particular, Ted Stedman and Wayne Riddle helped update my Dollars to the Classroom Act. Tim and Wayne and their colleagues at CRS are an invaluable part of what we are trying to accomplish here in Congress. I thank CRS for their hard work, for their dedication in providing Congress with the tools that we need to address the issues our Nation faces.”
