My friend, Sister Francesca Onley, has served as president of Holy Family University for 32 years and is recognized as an outstanding and effective administrator. She led the expansion of the institution in Philadelphia while maintaining the integrity of its educational philosophy. Sister Francesca guided Holy Family to its university status. She expanded enrollment and grew the endowment fund substantially. Sister Francesca also attained leadership positions in educational associations, including charter president of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Consortium for Higher Education, the prestigious International Association of University Presidents, and the United Nations Commission on Disarmament Education, Conflict Resolution and Peace. She addressed the Commission's goal to nurture peace concepts through education by establishing outreach programs in Africa. Sister Francesca is being honored in Philadelphia for a life of faith, grace, and achievement. Her family, friends, and associates look forward to the future accomplishments of this most remarkable woman. ____________________
