Madam Chair, I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Add at the end the following: TITLE VII--GAO REPORT SEC. 701. GAO REPORT. Not later than one year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall submit to the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate a report that evaluates and analyzes the impact of this Act, and the amendments made by this Act, on-- (1) protecting parents' rights in the education of their children; and (2) costs to State educational agencies, local educational agencies, elementary schools, and secondary schools (as such terms are defined in section 8101 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 7801)). The Acting CHAIR. Pursuant to House Resolution 241, the gentleman from Pennsylvania (Mr. Fitzpatrick) and a Member opposed each will control 5 minutes.
