Despite our policy disagreement, we have never allowed it to interfere with our obligation to implement the law Congress enacted.

A 66% reduction in unrepresented defendants is a turning point. The work is not done, and we will keep striving for improvement until every person needing counsel has an attorney.

I fought in the courts to make sure unlawful actions could not happen. 100 days later, the troops went home — not only Oregon troops, but California troops — and we averted a disaster.
