I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Beginning on page 342, strike line 13 through page 343, line 24, and insert the following: ``(3) State activities and state administration.--A State educational agency may reserve not more than 17 percent of the amount allotted to the State under subsection (b) for each fiscal year for the following: ``(A) Not more than 5 percent of such amount for each fiscal year for-- ``(i) the administrative costs of carrying out its responsibilities under this part; ``(ii) monitoring and evaluation of programs and activities assisted under this part; ``(iii) providing training and technical assistance under this part; ``(iv) statewide academic focused programs; or ``(v) sharing evidence-based and other effective strategies with eligible entities. ``(B) To do one or more of the following: ``(i) To pay the costs of developing the State assessments and standards required under section 1111(b), which may include the costs of working, at the sole discretion of the State, in voluntary partnerships with other States to develop such assessments and standards.…
