While the senior groups have not been able to come before the Finance Committee to discuss this issue, I can say--and I have been working with a number of these organizations since my days with the Gray Panthers--that they are overwhelmingly opposed to this. I think, in particular, this idea that we heard from the Congressional Budget Office last week--that half of the country will have zero insurance choices in the private marketplace under this repeal scheme, and that it goes up--will just cause even more seniors to be against it.
