I am aware of that, and it disturbs me that the responsibility of the President to find the right person to place on the Court was farmed out, essentially, to these two groups the Senator mentioned. While often people will say: Did the President ask the nominee a particular question about how they might rule on XYZ, I am sure that it is quite likely that these groups did ask all sorts of questions in developing their list of 21 potential Justices.
