I rise in opposition to this motion to instruct for one simple reason: It is up to America to lead the world in reducing the use of fossil fuels and in pivoting to renewable energy. Yet this motion to instruct says we cannot do anything to help foreign entities address any aspect of the climate objective: not to fight forest fires that come from climate change, not to address the salinization or the acidification of the sea, not to address reforestation or deforestation. It is up to America to help make sure that we provide nonfossil fuel energy for the future that will help us all address this huge list of issues. It is important that we lead the world, not neglect the world. Vote on Motion The PRESIDING OFFICER. The question is on agreeing to the motion. The motion was agreed to. The PRESIDING OFFICER (Mr. Kelly). The Senator from New Hampshire. Motion to Instruct

At a time when families are struggling to afford groceries, gas, healthcare, and childcare, Congress cannot throw hundreds of billions of dollars at Trump’s ‘Golden Fleet.’
Once an Administration begins punishing Americans for how they vote, the threat extends far beyond these projects: no state, community, business, or worker can trust that the federal government will apply the law fairly.
Trump’s illegal war with Iran has cost us dearly, and now he’s trying to rewrite history to better serve his agenda.
Now that court documents have confirmed what we knew to be true, we write to demand that you restore previously awarded funding that the Trump Administration has weaponized in an attempt to punish perceived political enemies.
