This bill represents the lowest common denominator. I am extremely disappointed that it does not prevent the unnecessary cuts of the sequester and that it fails to fund many programs that are vital to Oregon and the Nation. At this point, however, this bill is the best that we can do. I am voting for it in order to avoid a government shutdown. With this most recent manufactured crisis behind us, I hope that Congress can come together and get serious about making the investments that will implement healthcare reform, rebuild and renew America's crumbling infrastructure, help our neediest families, and protect public health and the environment.
