I have 190 days left in Congress, so I have been spending time on issues that bring people together rather than divide them.

But reauthorizing the programs without improving them is a missed opportunity.

I can speak confidently for House Democrats when I say we are firmly committed to reauthorization of AGOA and HOPE before their expiration next year.

These things aren't going to get enacted into law, they are not going to make a difference to the American people. It is a distraction, it is a sideshow.
