Today, the House of Representatives considered and rejected the proposal placed by Senate Majority Leader Reid before the Senate. While this is not remotely the solution we need, I voted in favor because this is the best the Republicans in the Senate will allow. It is imperative that Congress keep the hope alive that we will avert default on our nation's obligations. This bill is likely the last and best proposal we will see. Speaker Boehner stated on the House Floor that he was ``sticking his neck out a mile,'' as he negotiated with the President on this issue.
