“The horrific wildfires in the West have cost families their property, homes, and in some cases, their jobs,” Rep. Bentz said.

People who lose their homes and wages due to wildfire should not be taxed on the funds they received as result of these disasters.

One of the things that’s a huge challenge is access to get firefighters in so they can fight these fires.

Mr. Chairman, this is an excellent bill, and we need it in Oregon. We have 30 million acres of trees. We absolutely need what this bill would provide.
