Mr. Chairman, this is an excellent bill, and we need it in Oregon. We have 30 million acres of trees. We absolutely need what this bill would provide.

I think it’s highly unlikely that you’d see much of any immediate benefit.

What you would do is you’d go back to those existing roads that have been abandoned and you would cut the trees out of them and presto, you have your road back.

The horrific wildfires in the West have cost families their property, homes, and in some cases, their jobs.
