The breadth and depth of information about nearly every American held by private companies is breathtaking and can easily be abused if adequate safeguards are not in place.

Every riot or act of violence or threat thereof taking place anywhere in this nation, whoever is responsible for it, is unconscionable and we on this side, Republicans, we reject it; we condemn it.

I urge my colleagues to support this bill on both sides of aisle, and I yield back the balance of my time.
