Senator Paul Simon, who is a Democrat, said that the greatest threat to Social Security and Medicare is this huge debt. The fact that the budget is not balanced. That is the greatest threat to both Social Security and Medicare. That is why it is absolutely critical that we balance this budget. We have got an almost $5 trillion debt that we have got to finally balance. And that is what we are about.”
