“Most Americans are concerned about where our economy is headed. In fact, we have made incredible strides. Is there more to do? Of course there is. The tax relief, though, helped tremendously. I want to talk a little bit about that and then talk about what we need to do in the future with regard to health care costs, litigation costs, international trade, energy costs to take this economy to even greater heights, but things are improving, and we need to acknowledge that because it is important to remember what we did that worked and what we have done that does not work. What we have done that works is, again, letting people keep more of their hard-earned money, increasing small business investment, helping people around this country to be able to find opportunity. This first chart shows the fact that over the last several months we have had incredible job growth. In fact, in the last 9 months alone we have created over 1.4 million jobs in this country.”
