Given education is a proven tool to increasing recycling participation and producing more viable recyclable streams, last Congress I was proud to co-sponsor the Recycle Act.

I am so proud of what you have done at Nestle and the bold commitment that you have made to make 100 percent of your packaging recyclable, or reusable by 2025 and to reduce the use of virgin plastics by one-third.

Congratulations on your new role as the head of this Interior and Environment Subcommittee. It is well-deserved.

And so that has to be--and I think it was mentioned a number of times today: Getting development right, with the diplomacy and the security, has to be key.

We will not be able to keep committed nation state adversaries at bay, out of our system, out of our networks.

As a cochair of the House Nursing Caucus, I made the nursing workforce a priority since coming to Congress.

Here in the district as well many small finance industry businesses who provide critical services to communities and played a key role during the pandemic are now being denied when they apply for forgiveness of their PPP loans despite Congress' intention that forgiveness be accessible to businesses in a wide range of industries.

As more and more Americans are vaccinated and normal economic activity returns, I also want to look at the future and consider how we can help small businesses reboot and contribute to our economic recovery as we return to normal.
