There clearly was a lot of divine intervention. We titled this event tonight: ``6/14/2017--A Day of Infamy in America.'' ``Infamy'' means an evil act, and it truly was that. I remember watching Jeff Duncan leave. I was out in the outfield, and I was thinking to myself: I usually have to leave early. Today I don't. I can stay longer. There were so many things that were divine intervention. I met the groundskeeper a couple months later. He said: ``I don't know why, but I locked the third-base gate the night before.'' If that gate was open, he could have walked right in. The fences are 20-feet high. People can't just hop the fence and get out. Thank goodness for Steve Scalise. He took a bullet for all of us. The first shot rang out. It hit a link in the fence right by the bullpen. It was our last practice, so our pitchers weren't in the bullpen. That was another divine intervention. Trent Kelly, a two-star general who did a couple tours overseas, was at third base, and he immediately cries out: ``There is a shooter,'' and everyone started to disperse. Along the way, everybody was trying to help one another. A young man, Matt Mika, was hit severely in the side of his chest and out the front of his chest. Steve went down, and he was crawling towards the outfield. Then he came to a stop, and there he lay.…
