As someone who has called Brooklyn home for decades, I know firsthand the challenges that communities like East Flatbush have faced because of years of disinvestment, a shortage of affordable housing, and longstanding health disparities.

When the gentlelady from New York looks at the screen — if she wants to check her hair, she wants to say anything she wants to to that screen — she has the right to do so.

We treat everybody the same. It doesn't matter where they come from.

This is not politics as usual. This is a defining moral moment for our country.
