As someone who has called Brooklyn home for decades, I know firsthand the challenges that communities like East Flatbush have faced because of years of disinvestment, a shortage of affordable housing, and longstanding health disparities.

Not since Jim Crow have we seen this level of systematic disenfranchisement of Black voters.
