Today's report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis on 3rd quarter gross domestic product (GDP) provides welcome evidence that the economy is moving from recession to recovery.

This is concrete evidence of the wisdom of the Recovery Act and the positive effect it has had on the economy in just eight short months.
That is why I encourage the members of the Senate to follow the House in passing a bill that extends unemployment benefits.
As the economy recovers, we must continue our commitment to the unemployed to ensure that working class Americans are not once again left out of the economic recovery, as they were under the Bush Administration.
We must do more to ensure that as we recover from this recession we do not see a repeat of the dismal job record of the Bush Administration.
I am optimistic that the numbers will show that the bold actions taken by Congress and the Obama Administration are turning our economy around.
thanks to President Obama and to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, we are finally seeing some signs of recovery.
As we recover we must continue our commitment to the unemployed to ensure that working class Americans aren't once again left out of economic recovery.
Although we have lost the beloved liberal lion of the Senate, his dream lives on in us and we will continue his work on behalf of the less fortunate.
