Congress should work to repeal and replace the current debt limit with a more effective limit.

The debt limit provides a good opportunity to address this crisis.

I think there should be an honest national debate on federal spending priorities and an agreement with the President on constructive spending restraint.

I guess as my time is winding down I'm going to argue on behalf of my constituents and these Delphi salaried folks that they should have been included in some of these.

We welcome that opportunity, as well as the HCTC extension for the next year.

To sit in a meeting with these folks, who didn't do anything wrong, paid money in, had a pension, were ready to go, worked hard their whole lives...

I hope I get as much enthusiasm from my friends on the other side about reforming bankruptcy laws for all Americans.

So what are you going to do? Are you going to make this person pay it back, Mr. Werfel?

I take issue with the idea that somehow these bills can't become law.

These aren't manufactured concerns. These aren't opinions.

So somebody will get 2 years of a subsidy that they signed up for unknowingly, which they got, which the law does not make them eligible for.
