When agents hide their faces and identities they create chaos, fear, and open the door to abuse.

We need to bring a national standard to ICE agents, and we need to bring transparency and accountability.

We would never accept it if the NYPD operated in masks without names or badges—and we shouldn't accept it from ICE either.

I urge my colleagues not to engage in knee-jerk reactions that set back our real progress toward creating a more equitable criminal justice system.
