Mr. Speaker, when we are here tonight speaking, we are not here to demonize those who come to these shores looking for a better life who follow the path of legal immigration, but it is summed up in the very description that I believe some people have almost become immune to hearing. It has become a catch phrase. Why do you think we call it illegal immigration? It is against the law. Therefore, it is incumbent upon this Congress to carry out the wishes of the American people, especially the people of the border States, and indeed nationwide, who see the fruits of their labor, their hard-earned money taken through what many would call confiscatory taxation policies and bestowed on folks who are not even citizens of the United States.
