And that is the basic common wisdom of those who involve themselves in the process, not to get caught up in micro or macro economics, but simply to provide for their families, to answer the call to duty, whether it is found in wearing the uniform of one of the branches of service in this country or contributing in other ways to our economy and to their communities and to their families. That is the simple elemental, yet vital, wisdom behind the plan that we are offering that essentially provides tax cuts for life, those child tax credits, those credits that help youngsters go on to college, those ways to save through those saving years that my colleague from Wisconsin and I found ourselves in as we are trying to provide for our children, also prepare for that final phase of life, those retirement years. And that is what is so appealing about this modest first step in tax reduction.
