I transmit to the House of Representatives, in compliance with their resolution of the 30th January last, a report from the Secretary of State, with accompanying documents.
I have to invite the special attention of Congress to that part of the Director's report in relation to the overvaluation given to the gold in foreign coins by the act of Congress of June 28, 1834
In compliance with the resolution of the Senate of the 30th December, 1839.
The information called for the reply is in the course of preparation and will be without doubt communicated at the commencement of the next session of Congress.
