Applications have been frequently made at the Mint for copies of medals voted at different times by Congress to the officers who distinguished themselves in the War of the Revolution and in the last war

The information called for the reply is in the course of preparation and will be without doubt communicated at the commencement of the next session of Congress.

I herewith transmit to the House of Representatives a report, with accompanying papers, from the Secretary of State, in answer to the resolution of the House of the 16th of December last.
