“Yes, I am opposed to this bill. The SPEAKER pro tempore. The Clerk will report the motion to recommit. The Clerk read as follows: Ms. Hochul moves to recommit the bill (S. 627) to the Committee on Rules, with instructions to report the bill back to the House forthwith, with the following amendment: Amend section 401(b)(3)(B) by adding at the end the following new clause: (vi) Prioritize deficit reduction from corporate subsidies before cutting education.--The joint committee shall first consider the elimination of-- (I) oil and gas subsidies for the major integrated oil companies, and (II) subsidies for corporate use of aircraft, before cutting essential education programs that are necessary for the creation of jobs, economic recovery, and investment in America's future.”
