Earlier this year, amid a rise in political violence and threats against public officials, we took steps to strengthen security at the State Capitol and across state government.

I feel very confident in our security, and we're so happy to welcome the eyes of the world.

That appears to me on its face to be a violation of civil rights to cause that kind of physical harm to an individual regardless of what the offense may be.

We will always cooperate with law enforcement when someone has committed a crime when there's a court order, a warrant for an arrest.
